Wait Times

We at the clinic understand that wait times for appointments can take too long and we want you to know that we will be doing better moving forward. With one physician it can be difficult to book an appointment in a timely manner as we have had hundreds of new patients join our practice in the last 2 years. Wait times are not just effected by the lack of physicians; we looked into this a little further through an audit of appointments and we identified that there were 213 No Shows in 2023 which equates to over 50hrs of lost appointments and we cannot fill those appointment slots without notice. This year we have had 224 No Shows to date. No Shows and the fact the we have only 1 provider are the main reason for increased wait times but we have some solutions.

Addressing Wait Times

Fees

As mentioned earlier we have had a lot of No Shows for appointments. These “no show” appointment take a spot away from someone in need. In order to lessen the no show burden moving forward there will be a $ 25.00 no show fee charged to patients that just do not show up to their scheduled apt. There will be no charge if patients call to cancel however and patients will be given notice on their first no show. Should a patient no show a second time they will be charged the $25.00.

Appointment Reminders

We will be implementing appointment reminders to help reduce the number of No Shows and late appointments. Reminders will be sent via Text Message and or E-mail.

Running Late : Please Phone

If you think you might be late, please call and let the clinic know and perhaps your appointment could be rescheduled. Appointments are generally booked back to back in 15 minute appointment slots unless booked for procedures or more complex appointments. This means that if you show up 5 - 10 minutes late we cannot see you, especially if we have patients on time and waiting for their appointment. If we saw each late patient, it would make every other appointment run late throughout the day and that is not fair to the patients who show up on time.
